Energol DS3 153 and 154 are high performance, detergent alkaline oils.
Energol DS3 is recommended for the lubrication of highly rated marine trunk piston engines operating with ISO 8217 type DMA/DMB/DMC fuels where there is a requirement for API CD diesel detergency. It is also suitable for the lubrication of most marine engine reduction gears and general lubrication.
Main Performance Features
Detergency/dispersancy for high level of engine cleanliness and minimum piston deposits.
High thermal and oxidation stability to prolong service life.
Alkalinity to neutralize the acidic products of combustion.
Good water-separation and minimal additive depletion.
Energol DS3 is fully approved by major engine manufacturers world-wide and exceeds the diesel detergency performance requirements of API-CD and MIL-L-2104C specifications.
Care and Handling
It is recommended that Energol DS3 is continuously filtered in accordance with manufacturers' instructions. Additionally it is important that engine manufacturers' oil change intervals are observed. Where specifically recommended, DS3 can be centrifuged, but on no account should the oil be water washed.
Packaging and Storage
Supplied in bulk and drums of approximately 210 liters. Where outdoor storage is unavoidable, drums should be covered. The drums should be stored in such a way as to ensure they are not damaged and grade markings are not obliterated. They should be positioned horizontally so as to prevent water collecting on drum ends. Ensure drums are tightly re-sealed after use.
